How Weapon Unlocking Works in Mo.Co (2026 Update)
If you arrived here from an older guide, be aware that the way you unlock weapons in Mo.Co has completely changed. After the NEO refresh (May 2026) and the new monthly season system, weapons are no longer tied to one-off story missions or fixed player levels. The old routes (Luna's #bigcitylife missions for Speedshot, Player Level 29 for Spinsickle, Jax's elite Projects for Buzz Kill) no longer apply.
In 2026, every weapon comes from one of two systems:
- Weapon Sprints: the seasonal progression track where you unlock the newest weapons.
- P.E.R.K.s: the reward system where older and previous-season weapons now live.
Below we break down both systems, how Chaos Energy powers them, how Weapon Dojos upgrade what you own, and exactly how to get every notable weapon: from Speedshot and Spinsickle to Buzz Kill, Singularity and the latest Wolf Stick and Squid Blades.
š Unlock logic updated for the June 2026 season. The original 2025 mission-and-level method described in older guides no longer works.
Weapon Sprints: How to Unlock New Weapons
Weapon Sprints are the heart of the new progression system and the only way to unlock a season's brand-new weapons. Mo.Co now runs on a roughly one-month seasonal cycle, and each season ships fresh weapons locked behind these Sprints.
Here is how it works:
- At the start of a season you choose one of three Weapon Sprints.
- You hunt monsters to collect Chaos Energy, which levels up the active Sprint.
- Completing a Sprint unlocks its weapon, then opens the next Sprint path.
- Work through the Sprints to collect every new weapon of the season.
ā ļø Heads up: as of the June 2026 season, Weapon Sprint Chaos Energy requirements were doubled, so expect a longer grind per weapon than in earlier seasons.
Current Season New Weapons
The June 2026 season added three new weapons, all unlockable through Weapon Sprints:
Wolf Stick: a wolf-companion weapon with area damage and a self-healing frenzy mode.
Squid Blades: a stealth weapon with invisibility, stuns and a healing burst.
Singularity: a versatile weapon with wormhole mobility, black-hole crowd control and team healing.
For a full ability breakdown of these three, see our New Season, New Weapons guide.
P.E.R.K.s: How to Unlock Older & Missed Weapons
Missed a weapon from a previous season? You are not locked out. Older weapons, including the original Season 1 roster, now live in the P.E.R.K.s system.
- P.E.R.K.s are earned through Weapon Sprints. You cannot buy them with real money.
- Each P.E.R.K grants one random item, with rarer items at a lower drop rate.
- Keep opening P.E.R.K.s to eventually collect older weapons you skipped.
This is now the route for fan-favorite weapons like Speedshot, Spinsickle, Buzz Kill, Hornbow and the Venom Bow (formerly Poison Bow). For drop rates and how Upgrade Cores fit in, see our P.E.R.K.s & Upgrade Cores guide.
Weapon Dojos & Masteries: Powering Up Your Weapons
Unlocking a weapon is only the start. Weapon Dojos let you train and master each weapon, unlocking Weapon Masteries that boost its power and add cosmetic rewards like Golden Shaders.
- Each weapon has its own Dojo and Mastery track.
- At the start of a brand-new season, Dojos are not available in Week 1 and return in Week 2.
- Use Upgrade Cores to raise a weapon's power level once it is unlocked.
Full details are in our Weapon Masteries & Dojos guide.
Chaos Energy, Season Level & Career Level
Everything in the new system runs on Chaos Energy, the currency you earn by hunting monsters.
- Chaos Energy levels your Weapon Sprints and the seasonal pass.
- Your Season Level resets to 1 at the start of every season.
- The level you reached is added to your permanent Career Level, which accumulates across seasons.
- The Final Stretch Pass now ends at level 100, and the Overtime Badge requires 5 million Chaos Energy (down from 7 million).

Buzz Kill is a melee weapon that summons bees to fight alongside you.- Main Attack: swing for area damage at close range.
