Introduction
⸻
The Poison Bow is a new ranged weapon introduced in Chapter 2.
It can be unlocked by completing the Throne Room rift.
Unlike simpler weapons, it requires planning, timing, and awareness to reach its full potential. Its attack pattern is divided into three stages, each of which can trigger different passives, making it both versatile and complex.
Using gadgets on cooldown without paying attention to timing windows will result in a significant loss of overall DPS.
Proper planning and awareness are key to unlocking its full potential.
Stay tense.
⸻
Pro and Cons of Poison Bow
Pro
- Ranged
- Slow application
- High sustained DPS through combos and DoT ticks
- Excellent scaling with passives like Lazer and Sticker
- Strong synergy with pets (Chickens, Turrets) for extra damage
- Effective in both Single Target and AoE scenarios
Cons
- Slow attack speed.
- Complex rotation, requires timing and awareness to maximize damage
- Hard to kite with slow due to low venom application.
- Capable of Everything, good in nothing. Always subpar of Speedshot in Single Target or Gadgets builds in AoE.
⸻
Basic Attacks
The Poison Bow fires regular arrows that deal 153 damage to a single target, with an arrow being shot every 0.5 seconds.
The basic attacks are the only part of the weapon rotation that can trigger Beam and Chicken effects. While the four basic attacks deal relatively low damage compared to other parts of the rotation, they are still important because their passives can provide a significant DPS boost when they proc. Therefore, they should not be ignored in calculations.
Combo Shots
Every 5th shot releases three poisonous arrows that explode on impact, applying a Damage over Time (DoT) effect to all enemies hit and a slow effect to non-boss targets only.
Each arrow in the combo deals 153 damage to a single target. If you’re close to an enemy, each of the three arrows can hit it individually. This makes the ability particularly strong in single-target scenarios, as each arrow benefits from the Sticker buff, effectively giving you 3× the damage bonus.
The three arrows can also trigger Lazer, but they cannot trigger Beam or Chicken.
Damage over Time (DoT)
The DoT effect deals 307 damage per tick, with 16 ticks for a total of 4,912 damage over 8 seconds.
This effect can be applied to multiple enemies, and each enemy with the DoT will independently tick damage.
The DoT is the most important part of the weapon rotation, especially in AoE scenarios, as it spreads consistent damage across all affected targets.
All DoT ticks can trigger Lazer, and—most importantly—Sticker. However, the DoT cannot trigger Beam or Chicken.
Basics, Combo hits and Dot scale on Weapon Damage.
Basics, Combo hits and Dot CAN crit.
The Poison Bow performs best in single-target scenarios or against bulky enemies, such as those Astartes insects.
While it can still be good in AoE situations, the explosion on impact affects only a small area, usually hitting just the frontline of a wave.
In single-target encounters, you should focus on completing full combos to maximize sustained damage, whereas in AoE scenarios, your priority is to spread poison as widely as possible to take full advantage of its damage-over-time effect.
⸻
TL:DR
Basic Attack:
• Deals 153 damage per shot.
• 1 hit every 0.5s.
• 4 shot for combo
• Every basic attack can trigger Lazer, Beam and Chickens
Combo:
• Fires 3 arrows at the same time, each dealing 153 damage.
• If you are near an enemy with a large hitbox, all 3 arrows hit that target.
• Combo arrows cause an explosion on hit. When an enemy is inside that explosion range, it gets a DoT
• Every arrow of the combo can trigger Lazer. It DOESN’T trigger Beam or Chicken
DoT:
• 307 damage × 16 ticks = 4,912 total.
• Ticks every 0.5s for 8s.
• Does not stack.
• Counts as Weapon damage.
• Every arrow of the combo can trigger Lazer. It DOESN’T trigger Beam or Chicken
⸻
Gadjets
⸻
Really Cool Sticker
• Duration: 5.2s.
• Cooldown: 20s.
• Every hit from Weapon or Pets deals an extra 467 damage.
• Synergizes heavily with DoT ticks, Combo arrows, SpawnTur hits and Chickens.
Sticker is your best-in-slot gadget. Every 20 seconds, it adds 445 damage to all parts of your weapon. It works on combo shots, effectively adding 3 × 445 damage, and it also applies to every DoT tick, which makes it especially strong in AoE situations. Sticker can even be used with pets such as Chickens and Turrets. Its damage scales with Weapon Damage, which synergizes perfectly with your weapon-focused build.
Combining Sticker with Vitamin creates a powerful burst combo, particularly when used alongside spawned Turrets or Chickens.
⸻
Vitamin Shot
• Duration: 3.2s.
• Cooldown: 10s.
• Increases attack speed by 33%.
• Heals x on hit.
• Affects Weapon and Pets (both heal and attack speed buff)
Vitamin Shot is the obvious choice for the Poison Bow, as it increases your survivability while also boosting your DPS.
It allows you to charge your combo shots faster and improves venom application in AoE scenarios.
In a pet-focused build with Chickens and Turrets, it becomes especially deadly.
⸻
Spicy Dagger
• Leaps in facing direction.
• Cooldown: 10s.
• Deals 3,277 damage on hit.
• Target hit gets a +25% damage Debuff to all YOUR sources for 5s.
• Buff applies to Weapon, Pets, and Passives.
Spicy Dagger lets you leap in the direction you’re facing. If you encounter an obstacle, your leap stops. If the obstacle is an enemy, it takes 3,277 damage, is slowed, and—most importantly—receives a debuff that increases all instances of damage you deal to that target by 25%. This debuff applies to all your damage and scales universally on that enemy.
The debuff is especially strong in single-target situations, and its low cooldown makes it almost always available. With a 5-second duration and a 10-second cooldown, it can be virtually active for half the fight.
While using it purely for movement may result in a minor DPS loss, it can save you in clutch moments, creating additional opportunities to deal damage.
⸻
Pew Pew 3000
• Summons a turret pet for 15s.
• Cooldown: 30s.
• Fires 397 damage × 3 shots/s = 17,865 base damage over lifetime.
• Benefits from Sticker and Vitamin.
• Can trigger Lazer.
Another addition in Chapter 2, Pew Pew 3000 lets you spawn a Turret. After a short 0.5-second downtime, the Turret goes online and begins shooting 3 times per second.
This gadget deals significant damage, especially in pet-focused builds. In non-pet builds, it still contributes a substantial portion of DPS by triggering Lazer in passive-focused setups or Sticker in weapon-focused builds.
The Turret also acts as a distraction, providing temporary tanking. However, this is not necessarily a good thing: its main role should be dealing damage.
Its value only matters while it is alive.
⸻
Other Gadjets Builds
⸻
Blizzard/Spray/Smart Fireworks in AoE Scenarios
⸻
To get some extra help in AoE scenarios, where the Turret alone might not be enough, you can consider adding Spray, Blizzard, or Smart fireworks.
That said, if you find yourself in a situation where the enemy crowd is so large that you need to rely on these passives and gadgets, then the Poison Bow isn’t the ideal choice.
In those cases, you would likely get better results with a Portal or Spinsickle build.
⸻
Passives
⸻
Unstable Lazer
• Deals 654 damage.
• ALL Weapon hits (Basics,Combo and DoT) can trigger Lazer.
• Chickens can trigger Lazer.
• Pew Pew 3000 can trigger Lazer.
Lazer is your best-in-slot passive for the Poison Bow.
It can be triggered by virtually everything, including basic attacks, combo shots, DoT ticks, and even Chickens and Turrets.
Its high proc frequency ensures it contributes a significant portion of your total DPS, making it the core passive of the weapon.
Simply put, it’s the best passive you could ask for.
⸻
Unstable Beam
• 20% chance on Basic Attacks only (no Combo, no DoT).
• Deals 946 damage.
This passive is a trap.
The main limitation of this passive is its trigger condition: it can only activate on the four basic attacks before the combo. Additionally, the basic attack speed is relatively slow compared to what Speedshot or Spinsickle can achieve. As a result, the damage increase is minimal and often not worth relying on.
⸻
Chicken - O - Matic
• 10% chance on Basic Attacks to spawn a Chicken pet.
• Chicken attacks every 0.5s, dealing 132 damage per hit (≈1,452 total).
• Chickens benefit from Sticker and Vitamin.
• Can trigger Lazer
• Max 6 Chickens
the Poison Bow can only trigger the Chicken passive on the four basic attacks before the combo. The chance to trigger this passive is relatively low, at 10% per basic attack, giving you roughly a 34.4% chance to activate it every rotation. On average, this means you might go through three rotations to see a Chicken proc.
Chickens perfectly synergize with the rest of the Poison Bow build. While they don’t deal meaningful damage on their own, they can trigger Lazers, benefit from Vitamin AS buffs and healing on hit, and—most importantly—receive the Sticker buff.
In certain Dojo encounters, you may need an extra layer of protection, as enemies can quickly overwhelm and kill you. Equipping this passive can provide momentary coverage.
It it procs, of course.
⸻
Vampiric Teeth
• Heal for 122 on basic hit.
• Pets heals themself for 122 on hit.
Vampiric Teeth only triggers on basic attacks, not on combos or DoT ticks. Even with pet lifesteal, only the Turret can reliably benefit from it, since Chickens are too fragile and usually die quickly regardless.
That said, it remains a solid option, especially when paired with Vitamin. Its value, however, is mostly limited to the Turret, with only partial usefulness for your own sustain.
⸻
RnB Mixtape
• Heal for 120 every 0.5 to everyone near you
While Vampiric needs you to autoattack, Mixtape unconditionally heals you for basically the same amount. It also heals allies and pets.
Mixtape is also used in some comps where 4x are equipped, so the healing stacks.
Most of the time, Mixtape is the better option.
⸻
Auto-Zapper
• Deals 1,464 damage every 3s to one enemy, stunning it.
This passive is generally suboptimal, but it can still have its uses.
In single-target scenarios, you’ll already be fighting at close range, so equipping it doesn’t hurt. It works particularly well against Chargers or channeling enemies, but the result is still mediocre.
⸻
Smelly Socks
• Deals 256 damage every 0.5 to all enemies around you.
This passive is generally suboptimal for the Poison Bow. Its low range and low damage make it better suited for tank or melee builds, which thrive in the middle of the fight.
The Poison Bow, by contrast, prefers to operate on the edge of the battlefield in AoE scenarios, spreading poison from a safer distance rather than diving into the “meatball” of enemies.
⸻
Unstable Battery
• Deals 1,264 damage whenever you use a Gadjet
This passive is most effective when paired with gadgets that have low cooldowns. Both Vitamin and Chili Dagger have a 10-second cooldown, while Sticker has 20 seconds. In a 60-second scenario, you can realistically expect 10–11 triggers, dealing roughly 15,000 damage.
If you’re using Pew Pew 3000, however, this passive is not recommended, as it has a 30-second cooldown, which makes it less effective in high-frequency damage rotations.
⸻
Unstable Lightning and Explode - O - Matic Trigger
• Unstable Lightning gives you 20% chance of dealing additional damage every time a Gadget deals damage
• On trigger it deals 1966
• Explode - O - Matic Trigger triggers an explosion upon the player killing a monster
• On explosion it deals 1311 damage AoE
These two passives synergize well when paired together, making them strong in AoE scenarios. However, they require you to run AoE-focused gadgets, and in such gadget-centered builds, the Poison Bow becomes more of a supportive weapon. Most of your gameplay in this setup will revolve around using AoE gadgets on cooldown, with the bow playing a secondary role.
That said, if you find yourself in a situation where the enemy crowd is so large that you need to rely on these passives and gadgets, then the Poison Bow isn’t the ideal choice. In those cases, you would likely get better results with a Portal or Spinsickle build.
⸻
Rings
⸻
The Inferior Rings are, as their name suggests, inferior in every aspect.
They provide HP%, but they force you to sacrifice key stats that are far more important for overall performance.
Even if you manage to gain a slight damage increase in one area, the loss in other areas results in a net DPS decrease.
For all calculations and comparisons in this guide, I have used Superior Rings as the standard.
⸻
Rings Loadouts
⸻
Most of the loadout calculations presented here are based on non-maxed rings, so take the raw values with a grain of salt. All tests were run using the same core setup of Vitamin, Sticker, and PewPew3000 as gadgets, and Lazer and Chicken as passives.
The highest damage output I obtained came from this setup: MPassives, MCrit e MPet
In direct comparisons, pet-focused builds come out slightly ahead of passive- or weapon-centered setups. The Turret alone can contribute over 50k damage in a 20-second window, and when combined with Sticker and Vitamin’s attack speed buff, it becomes one of the most reliable and highest-scaling sources of DPS in the kit.
Even the Chicken passive, while dependent on RNG for spawns, adds meaningful damage and also contributes to Lazer procs, further raising the value of pet builds. Over many rotations, the RNG smooths out, and the average total DPS remains higher than what passive-focused builds can achieve.
That said, the advantage is not overwhelming — pet builds are only slightly stronger overall.
⸻
Elite Modules
Elite Modules aren’t particularly impactful on the overall gameplay, so you can freely choose the ones you prefer.
Speedkill is useful in certain Dojos where you’re being chased by large groups of enemies.
Healing Ride works well in Worlds and some Dojo encounters where you able to run on mount, as it helps with survivability.
⸻
BUILDS
⸻
PewPew Pet Build
Sticker, Vitamin , Pew Pew 3000
Lazer, Chicken, Vampiric
Major Weapon, Major Crit, Major Passives
The exposition build.
This is the most consistent build I can recommend. It performs best in single-target scenarios against tough bosses such as Dethrone Dojo. The combination of Vitamin + Sticker boosts not only your own DPS but also your pets’ damage. Follow the rotation carefully when deploying your Turret, and hope that Chickenjesus smiles upon you for extra damage from procs.
If the sustain from Vampiric isn’t enough to keep you alive, consider switching it out for Mixtape to gain extra survivability.
⸻
Spicy Dagger Pet
Sticker, PewPew3000, Spicy Dagger
Lazer, Chicken, Vampiric
Major Weapon, Major Crit, Major Pet
If the sustain from Vampiric isn’t enough to keep you alive, consider switching it out for Mixtape to gain extra survivability.
⸻
AoE
Sticker, Vitamin , AoE Gadjet
Lazer, Explode - O - Matic Trigger, Vampiric
Major Weapon, Major Crit, Major Passives
If the sustain from Vampiric isn’t enough to keep you alive, consider switching it out for Mixtape to gain extra survivability.
If you need consistent damage, maybe in scenario where enemies don't die so easly, you can consider switching Explode with Unstable Lightning.
⸻
Rotations
⸻
Single Target
4× Basic Attack → PewPew3000 → Vitamin → Sticker → Combo
When fighting a single target, stay close to the boss to ensure all parts of your combo shot connect. PewPew3000 is your main source of DPS, often providing more than half of your total damage, especially in pet-focused builds.
Be mindful of boss positioning to prevent it from hitting your turret. If the turret dies, you lose a significant portion of your DPS. In some situations, it may be better to maintain combo hits and wait for a safer opportunity to deploy the Turret. Always keep an eye on the boss’s intentions to maximize both survivability and damage output.
⸻
AoE Scenarios
Vitamin → 4× Basic Attack → Combo
Repeat this sequence until most enemies are affected by poison, then use Sticker to maximize damage across the group.
The DoT lasts for 8 seconds, while Sticker remains active for 5.2 seconds. This creates a 3-second window where you should focus on applying the DoT to as many enemies as possible. By doing so, you ensure that the last Dots of the first enemies hits will trigger Sticker.
